General Information About Using Our Buildings

Poolesville Presbyterian Church (PPC) has three buildings available for use: the sanctuary, manse (a white "house"), and general purpose facility known as Speer Hall. Each has unique features and use possibilities as described in more detail below.

The PPC Session, our management team, reserves the right to determine whether a group is eligible to use a building. Facilities may be used by PPC church members or non-profit groups (for non-fund-raising activities only). No fee will be charged, but as we do incur costs for their upkeep, we would appreciate a monetary donation of your choice or a donation of non-perishable food items for our Little Free Pantry and BackPack Bites programs.

Requesting use of any of these buildings requires a review and prior approval from the PPC Session. MAKE SURE YOUR REQUEST IS SUBMITTED AT LEAST ONE MONTH PRIOR TO NEED. Before submitting a request we recommend that you review our Facilities Calendar to see if your desired/required building, date, and timeframes are available.

Speer Hall is our most flexible building and most widely used by other groups. It has a large meeting room (approximately 30 feet x 40 feet) and a kitchen, along with two restrooms (one is handicap accessible). It also has a nursery for use by young children if supervised at all times. This building has tables and chairs that can be set up and used provided you break them down when done.

Our manse was once a house where our former pastors resided. Currently it houses our church offices and some of our Christian Education classrooms. It has two restrooms, one on each floor. It has a sitting room that can accomodate groups under 10 participants for informal meetings and events.

Our sanctuary seats 70 adults comfortably on the main floor and also has two unconnected balconies (each one can hold an additional 10-20 people - note that their view may be a bit obstructed). Our sanctuary does not have its own restroom.
